Airplane Sustainable Design - InterFlight Studio

With the involvement and enthusiasm of people like you, recycling is back and so are thousands upon thousands of recycled products made from materials that would otherwise be piling up in our nation's landfills. It doesn't just make sense. It makes a huge difference to our environment, our quality of life, and our country's future.

Recycling is really just common sense, and until the "modern era," it was a common household activity. Before the 1920s, 70% of U.S. cities ran programs to recycle certain materials. During World War II, industry recycled and reused about 25% of the waste stream. Because of concern for the environment, recycling is again on the upswing. The nation's composting and recycling rate rose from 7.7% of the waste stream in 1960 to 17% in 1990. It's currently up to around 30%. California is at about 48%.

The Garbage Crisis
The world has changed a lot in the past century. From individually packaged food servings to disposable diapers, more garbage is generated now than ever before. The average American discards seven and a half pounds of garbage every day. This garbage, the solid waste stream, goes mostly to landfills, where it's compacted and buried. As the waste stream continues to grow, so will the pressures on our landfills, our resources, and our environment.
Recycling - An Important Part Of The Solution
The more we recycle, the less garbage winds up in our landfills and incineration plants. By reusing aluminum, paper, glass, plastics, and other materials, we can save production and energy costs, and reduce the negative impacts that the extraction and processing of virgin materials has on the environment.
It all comes back to you. Recycling gets down to one person taking action. New products can be made from your recyclable waste material. Recycling is good for our environment, our communities, and our economy.

InterFlight Studio is dedicated to creating designs that are both green for the enviornment and beautiful in design.  InterFlight Studio only uses real parts from decomissioned airplanes to build their creations.  In this way, we are saving the airplane, some of its history, and re-integrating it into our culture and society again.  Otherwise the airplanes get broken down and sit around in a warehouse for many years collecting dust.

InterFlight Studio gives old aircraft new life and new purpose.  Our in house design team can create anything you can imagine from furniture to chandeliers, to installations of a grand magnitude.  Our love and passion is flight, and we love to share the magic of flying with the rest of the world.

Flight Concepts - by InterFlight Studio

The Grand Aviation Chandelier Concept - InterFlight Studio
Airport Decoration

InterFlight Studio is the only gallery in the world dedicated to representing artists and designers inspired by the magic of flight.  In addition to representing artists, InterFlight Studio has also expanded into doing their own in house design concepts.  The Grand Aviation Chandelier is one of those concepts.

InterFlight Studio's mission is to express their love for flight through art and design, and inspire others also.  Lots of people, when they think about flying, it has turned into alot of negative things.  People dont like waiting in lines, security screenings, etc.  There was once a time when flying was fun, and it was more than just a way to get across the world.  It was an experience all its own, and InterFlight Studio wants to bring that feeling back.  The feeling of the first time you flew on an airplane, and the joy it brought you.

Let InterFlight Studio work for you.  No matter what your idea is, big or small, we can design something completely unique for you or your building.

The Grand Aviation Chandelier Concept

The Grand Aviation Chandelier Concept
Copyright InterFlight Studio 2013

The Grand Aviation Chandelier Concept by InterFlight Studio, is truely a one of a kind design item.  These chandeliers are completely custom made for each specific client.  These chandeliers use the cowling from an original jet engine and turbine blades recycled from that same engine.  There are also three original airport landing strip lights that illuminate this chandelier.

Whether these custom chandeliers are for your home, office, lobby, or airport, they are sure to impress all who see them.  Their beauty will stand the test of time, and it is a great tribute to the magnificent machines they once were.

These chandeliers appease both men and women.  Women like the curving effect of the lights as they tumble down from the cowling.  Men, like the industrial feel of steel instead of the typical frilly decorations that ususally adorn chandeliers.

InterFlight Studio is the only gallery in the world representing artists and designers inspired by the magic of flight.  Recently, they have begun designing their own in house collection for special clients only.  This chandelier concept is one of those pieces from their new exclusive line.  For years, InterFlight Studio has been a leader in aircraft repurposed furniture.  They represent some of the best artists and designers who take the concept of 'green design' to a whole new level.

If you are an Interior Designer, we would like to hear feedback from you.  We are always interested in working with interior designers or architects to plan out something much larger than these simple concepts.
If you have a special client, we would love to help you fulfill their dreams.

InterFlight Studio is proud to introduce a new concept:
The Fountain of Flight.

Made from the outer shell of an aircraft jet engine, this fountain will sooth your mind all day with its tranquil and gentle sounds. This fountain is available for the client to design freely.  The way the water interacts with the fountain is completely up to what the client has in mind.

This is a one of a kind piece.  No one else in the world is making concepts like this.  The jet engine is barely recognizable for what it once was.  Now it can be an industrial looking, one of a kind piece of art work and a piece of history.  It's simple shape makes is suitable for any space, indoors or out.

Fountains drown out background noise, and often help people relax into a gentle state of mind.  Not only will this fountain remind you of soaring high above the clouds, but it will massage your mind after a long day of work stresses and troubles.  This is a beautiful masterpiece made completely for you.
